We would like to acknowledge the impact to our community from the COVID-19 Pandemic. At the Little Apple Veterinary Hospital, the health, safety, and wellbeing of our patients, clients, employees, and community is of utmost importance. As a primary care provider in our area, we are committed to keeping our hospital open as long as possible, and since we have been deemed an “essential” healthcare provider, we are striving to adapt to a new business model in this everchanging situation. Because your pet needs vaccinations, medications and other pet healthcare needs, we want you to understand the importance of continued care for your pets at this time. If you feel you need some sort of correspondence to carry with you to our hospital, then please ask the receptionists, and they will provide you with the documentation needed. For existing clients, we are now able to utilize “telehealth.” Please feel free to send pictures and videos of your pet and their symptoms to email@example.com, after discussing your patients case over the phone. (Professional consultation fees will apply. However, during these unusual times, we are offering a 10% discount on Telehealth.) In order to continue to provide a safe and healthy environment for you, your pets, and our staff, we are implementing the following procedures.
For Any Pet Visit - It is essential that anyone displaying symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, digestive issues or shortness of breath) or who has traveled internationally or to an area in the United States with high incidence of COVID-19 in the last 14 days, call beforehand to discuss the situation. We have plans in place to ensure your pet receives the care it needs. This may include having a staff member in personal protective equipment meet you at your vehicle.
Policy Update for Inpatient Visits -We encourage drop-off appointments when possible. Upon your arrival, please utilize the button under the drive-through window to talk to our staff. You can also call from your car in the parking lot as well (785-539-0191), and please give a description of your car to the staff so they can come directly to retrieve your pet. *As of 5/23/20 we were able to open up our lobby to clients, however the capacity is limited and you must follow the ENTER and EXIT signs.*
*No personal items can be kept with the pet while staying for boarding, grooming, surgery or other drop-off appointment procedures. This includes blankets, toys, collars, leashes, kennels, etc. (We will provide a soft blanket and toys if you would like us to. Just ask the staff member that helps you.)
*Only prescription medications & prescription diets will be exempt for the time being.
Please clean your carrier, leash, and collar as carefully as possible before arrival with an alcohol-based solution. These items will be returned to you after the staff admits your pet.
*Please respect the ‘social distancing’ recommendations and maintain a distance of 6 feet from our staff in the parking lot. We apologize in advance if you experience any increased wait times to accommodate these new protocols.
*If you are purchasing any products, such as food, medications, or other veterinary supplies, you can utilize our drive-thru, (we can hand products through the window or through the nearby door), or call from your car. For the safety of our staff, please shut off your engine while in the drive-through and in the parking lot.

We welcome new clients and patients and we would love to meet you and your pet. Feel free to fill out the new patient paperwork ahead of time (Click the blue New Patients icon ) . For all new pets, we'd also like you to bring in a copy of previous records if you are able.
